I’m Mara Victoria, the founder and creator of Mara Victoria — a brand born
from a dream, a leap of faith, and a deep passion for creativity. I believe my
story speaks to the power of listening to your heart and having the courage to
pursue your passion. This journey began in Texas, where I was born, continued
in Mexico, where I was raised, and later took me to Paris, where I officially
launched Mara Victoria. I returned to the U.S. during high school and
eventually graduated with an engineering degree from Texas A&M University
in College Station. I later moved to Paris, where I earned my MBA in Fashion
and Luxury.

I began my career in the oil and gas industry, working on everything from
fracking wells in the Gulf of Mexico to diving into data analytics. It was a
good job, and I was grateful for the opportunities it gave me, but deep down,
something felt missing. I liked what I did, but I didn’t love it — and that
quiet frustration stayed with me. During this time, I also became a mother of
two at a young age. In the rare moments between work and motherhood, I found
myself sketching handbags and clothing at my desk, dreaming of a different
path. Even with a promising career, I was longing for something more meaningful
— something that truly sparked joy.

I didn’t know exactly how I would bring my vision to life or what my designs
would look like, but I was certain of one thing: I wanted to build a brand that
was unique, bold, and rooted in craftsmanship and quality. I left my job, gave
my two weeks’ notice, and flew to a leather fair in Milan. The moment I saw the
vibrant colors and rich textures of Italian leather, something clicked. My mind
began racing with ideas, and that’s when Mara Victoria truly began to take
shape. From there, I dedicated countless hours to mastering the craft of
leatherworking, learning from an incredibly skilled and experienced friend who
taught me everything from stitching to finishing edges. At home, I experimented
with mockups, measurements, and shapes — testing and refining my ideas while my
two kids played around the house. There were moments of doubt, of course, but
with persistence, I pushed through the challenges. Eventually, I opened a small
workshop where a talented woman and I began bringing my first designs to life.

Mara Victoria has come a long way since then, but I am still just as
committed to the principles that launched the brand: craftsmanship, quality,
and authenticity. We’re not just making bags and accessories — we’re creating
pieces that make our clients feel seen, celebrated, and unique. I believe that
fashion is a personal statement, and every piece we offer is meant to enhance
and elevate our clients’ individuality. It’s the third piece that completes any
look, the one that adds that special touch and makes an outfit unforgettable.
Today, Mara Victoria is more than just a brand—it’s a reflection of my journey.
We’re a small company, but we’re big on dreams. And while there’s still much to
accomplish, we are dedicated to creating pieces that offer not just style, but
also an experience. Each design is crafted with care, made from the finest
materials, and tailored to the uniqueness of the wearer. Our goal is to create
that third piece—the one that elevates an outfit, adds
that distinctive touch, and becomes a part of your personal story.
